Presque Isle is a Wisconsin town (an unincorporated minor civil division) in far northern Vilas County, on the Michigan border, that brands itself 'Wisconsin's Last Wilderness.' Its 2020 Census population was 805, with a Wisconsin Department of Administration final estimate of 812 as of January 1, 2025. The town is governed by an elected three-member board (a chairman and two supervisors) and is a four-season Northwoods tourism destination built around clear lakes such as 1,165-acre Presque Isle Lake, national-forest land, and extensive trails. Elementary-age children attend North Lakeland School in Manitowish Waters and high schoolers attend Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua, the nearest full-service hub.
