The Town of Crescent is a civil town (unincorporated minor civil division) in Oneida County, Wisconsin, a roughly six-mile by six-mile survey town of 36 sections in the south-central part of the county that lies west of and partially surrounds the City of Rhinelander. Its 2020 Census population was 1,984 and Wisconsin's official January 1, 2025 estimate is 1,981, essentially flat. It is a lake- and forest-rich, tourism- and residential-oriented town (about 69 percent woodland, with a high share of seasonal homes) governed by an elected town board (Chair Grady Hartman plus two supervisors) and served entirely by the School District of Rhinelander. Population, land area, and coordinates bind to primary state (DOA) and Census Gazetteer sources; officials bind to the town's own site; geography, schools, economy, recreation, and infrastructure bind to the town's officially adopted 2024 Comprehensive Plan. ACS income and age figures are flagged where only the Census Reporter mirror was reachable.
