Conover is an unincorporated civil town in Vilas County in Wisconsin's Greater Northwoods, governed by a town board of a chairperson (Karl Jennrich) and four supervisors, with Clerk Kendra Lederer and Treasurer Jen Steiner. Its 2020 Census population was 1,318 and the Wisconsin Department of Administration's official January 1, 2025 estimate is 1,354. It is a lakes-and-forest tourism community (North Twin Lake, the Buckatabon lakes, the upper Wisconsin River, and 54 miles of groomed snowmobile trails), home to Camp Ramah in Wisconsin, and part of the Northland Pines School District centered in Eagle River, roughly 18 miles to the south.
