Cloverland is a rural Wisconsin town (civil township) in southern Vilas County in the Greater Northwoods, covering about 30.9 square miles of land studded with lakes inside and around the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. The U.S. Census counted 1,068 residents in 2020, and the Wisconsin Department of Administration estimates 1,072 as of January 1, 2025. It is governed by an elected town board (Chairperson Steve Favorite) with a combined clerk/treasurer, sends its students to the Northland Pines School District, and is marketed with neighboring Plum Lake as the Sayner-Star Lake-Cloverland area, a four-season lake-tourism and snowmobiling community.
